Halo 4 on PC officially launches early

Halo developer 343 Industries has released Halo 4 on PC early, giving night owl gamers a chance to get into the action ahead of Halo 4’s scheduled November 17 release date. The game costs $10 to get by itself, but you also get access to it by purchasing the full Master Chief Collection (MCC), which is priced at $40. On PC, the MCC and all of its games are available on Steam and the Windows 10 Store.

On top of Halo 4, both crossplay and input-based matchmaking have been added to the MCC as well. Both of these features have been highly-anticipated by the community; crossplay allows Xbox and PC players to play with each other, while input-based matchmaking allows players using either controller or mouse and keyboard to choose to be matched with other players using those same inputs.

Halo 4 was the last game that 343 Industries had left to bring to PC, and now that it’s here, it’s cool to think about how much of a comeback story the MCC as a whole has made over the years ever since its disasterous Xbox One launch in 2014. Will you be playing Halo 4 on PC? Let us know. If you’re craving some Halo action while you wait for Halo Infinite to release, Halo 4 and the other MCC games are a superb way to get your fill of the space opera shooter.
