Galaxy S21 FE starts getting February 2022 security update in Europe

Two weeks ago, Samsung had released a new software update to the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy S21 FE in the US. Now, the company is expanding the reach of the update to Europe. African, Asian, and South American markets could get the update within the next few weeks.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S21 FE has firmware version G990BXXS1BVB3. It brings the February 2022 security patch to fix over 60 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. It might also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements. Some of the stock apps may get updated as well.

If you are a Galaxy S21 FE user in Europe, you might have already received a notification of the new update. If you haven’t received it yet, you can check for the OTA update manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy S21 FE in January 2022, and it came running Android 12-based One UI 4 out of the box. The device will get four major Android OS updates and five years of security updates in the future.
