Every week, the playlist introduces players with new events, challenges to complete, and rewards to earn. Occasionally, however, challenges can ramp up the difficulty or be unclear in their descriptions and instructions.

From tricky Daily Challenges to enigmatic Treasure Hunts, this is everything you need to know to complete those Forza Horizon 5 challenges and obtain every exclusive reward in one of the best racing games on Xbox.

The Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist features a rotating selection of possible challenges and events, most of which are fairly straightforward. Every so often, however, FH5’s Festival Playlist will present players with a particularly difficult challenge, either through design, confusing or unclear instructions, or even in-game bugs that prevent the challenge from being completed like normal.

Winter, Series 4 — “On Target” Treasure Hunt

Treasure Hunt challenges task players with solving a riddle and then hunting down a hidden Treasure Chest in a suddenly-revealed portion of the map. Treasure Hunts can often be frustrating to complete, especially since several in the past have been buggy. In the Winter season of the Series 4 Festival Playlist, the “On Target” Treasure Hunt thankfully doesn’t appear bugged, but it can still be unclear how to complete the challenge.

The provided clue reads: Look! Rallying beasts chasing five bulls! Translated, this means you need to hit five bullseyes while driving any Rally Monster car. Completing this Treasure Hunt grants you three Playlist Points in the Festival Playlist and 50,000 Credits.

Your first step is to acquire and drive a Rally Monster car. Fortunately, there are a ton of Rally Monster cars in the Forza Horizon 5 car list. You can find out which Rally Monsters you already own by heading to your garage at any Festival Site or Player House, and using the “Filter” option to display only Rally Monster type vehicles.

Forza Horizon 5 provides all players with a free Rally Monster car very early in the game as a reward for completing the first Horizon Showcase. The 1994 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS Cosworth WRC “Cossie V2” is perfectly suited for this challenge.

Once you have your Rally Monster car, you have one of two options. You can either approach this Treasure Hunt the “correct” way by participating in a Horizon Arcade Air Theme Event and hoping that one of the three rounds is a Bullseye Round. This event has you speed up ramps in order to hit floating bullseyes and accumulate score. However, it’s random when an Air Theme Event may appear on the map, meaning you could be waiting for hours just to find one to join.

Alternatively, you can skip the wait and chance it by using the EventLab, which lets players create a practically limitless range of events and races, and is a great tool for completing many obscure challenges and achievements. If you head to the EventLab and use the “Search” function, you can search all available events for “On Target” (the name of this Treasure Hunt). Several players have already designed short EventLab Blueprints that include everything you need.

Once you’ve hit five different Bullseyes with your Rally Monster car, you will have solved the Treasure Hunt riddle and the area in which the Treasure Chest can be found will be revealed on the map. If you want to skip the search, we’ve highlighted exactly where you can find the Treasure Chest in the images above.

This time around, the Treasure Chest is located on top of a semi-truck near El Estadio, or the giant stadium near the center of Forza Horizon 5’s map. You’ll have to make use of nearby ramps to drive up to the Treasure Chest, and then smash it with your car to complete the Treasure Hunt and earn your reward.

The challenges continue

As the Forza Horizon 5 map shifts through the seasons every week, a new batch of challenges appear. If any mission poses a unique challenge to players, we’ll update this section with instructions on how to (if you can) complete it. If there are any challenges you would like us to tackle, sound off in the comments below.
