Samsung’s new Odyssey G7 monitor is now available for preorder on Amazon starting at $700. The curved monitor is available in either 27-inches or 32-inches and has a 1000R curvature. Amazon’s listing for the monitor states that it will be released on July 13, 2020, but you can preorder it now in either size.
The monitor’s display has a 240Hz refresh rate and a response time of 1ms. It supports both NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to prevent your games from dropping frames. It’s a QLED panel, which helps blacks appear deeper and colors appear more vivid. It has 125 percent more color space than sRGB thanks to it utilizing Quantum Dot technology, according to its listing.
The curvature of the display, the fast response time, and the 240Hz refresh rate should combine for immersive gameplay or media. Samsung initially announced the Odyssey G7 at CES 2020 alongside the larger 49-inch Odyssey G9. At this time, the Odyssey G9 doesn’t appear to be available for preorder, but that could change soon as both monitors were originally set to launch in Q2 2020.
