Samsung’s new OLED TVs are brighter and have Glare Free coating

Samsung has unveiled its new OLED TVs ahead of the CES 2024 expo. The company’s new lineup of OLED TVs uses QD-OLED panels, but Samsung could use LG’s WRGB OLED panels in some of its TV models. These new OLED TVs feature higher brightness, faster performance, improved picture quality, and anti-glare coating.

The QD-OLED TV lineup from Samsung also runs the 2024 version of the Tizen OS. Samsung has also announced new QLED, Neo QLED, and Micro LED TVs.

Samsung’s 2024 lineup of OLED TVs has ‘OLED Glare Free’ coating and higher brightness

There are three models in Samsung’s 2024 OLED TV lineup: S85D, S90D, and S95D. The S95D is the most premium of them all, and it is available in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch sizes. The S85D and the S90D are available in various sizes, ranging from 42 inches to 83 inches. The 42-inch, 50-inch, and 83-inch models may use LG Display’s WRGB OLED panels, but that is yet to be confirmed.

All the new TVs feature 4K resolution and the ‘OLED Glare Free’ coating. The OLED Glare Free feature cuts down on reflections from nearby light sources like bulbs, doors, and windows, thanks to a specialized hard-coating layer and surface coating pattern. Samsung says that its technology does this while maintaining color accuracy, as proven by the Pantone Validated certification.

The S95D claims to offer accurate colors, deeper blacks, and perfect whites. This TV model has 20% higher brightness compared to the S95C, which could mean up to 1,800 nits peak brightness. It has a 144Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification, HDR10+ Adaptive, and HDR10+ Gaming for tear-free and HDR gaming. These TVs have four HDMI 2.1 ports, offering up to 4K 120Hz visuals. To use the 144Hz refresh rate, it might feature a DisplayPort 1.4 port.

Samsung Daily Plus TV Lineup 2024

These TVs also run 2024 Tizen OS, offering several new features and improved UI. Samsung TV Plus has an updated UI that highlights new content and gets new categorization. It also connects with the Samsung Account of the users to offer personalized content recommendations. They also feature Samsung Gaming Hub and are compatible with the ‘Designed for Samsung Gaming Hub’ accessories, like the PDP Replay Midnight Blue.

Other new features include the 2024 version of Q-Symphony, which allows the new TVs to pair with multiple wireless soundbars and speakers. The TVs also feature 360 Audio, AirPlay 2, Mobile Smart Connect, Matter, Multi Control, Samsung Daily+, Samsung Health, SmartThings Hub, Vibrary, and Workout Tracker.

Samsung has also added more accessibility features, including Audio Subtitle, Relumino Together Mode, and Remote for Barrier Free. Samsung hasn’t announced the prices or availability of its new OLED TVs yet, but we expect them to be available in certain countries before the end of Q1 2024. Other countries could get them later in the year. They will be showcased at the company’s CES 2024 booth.
