Unlocked Galaxy Note 20 units get Android 12 update in the US

Last month, Samsung had released the Android 12 update to the Galaxy Note 20 series in some countries. The update expanded to more markets, including the US, last week. Now, the unlocked units of the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra have started getting the Android 12 update.

The new Android update for the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with firmware version N98xU1UES2EULI. It is available on almost all carrier networks, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, C-Spire, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. The update also includes the January 2022 security patch that fixes various privacy and security vulnerabilities.

If you are a Galaxy Note 20 series smartphone user in the US, you might have already received a notification of the Android 12 update. If you haven’t received it yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware from our firmware database and flash it manually.

The Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra were launched in late 2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2.5. They received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in late 2020 and the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update a few days ago. The phones will get one more Android OS update in the future.
