Time to upgrade your Classic Galaxy Watch? You can save $150

The Galaxy Watch 3 was the last Tizen OS smartwatch before Samsung switched to Wear OS. You may have held on to it and didn’t upgrade to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, while last year, you didn’t feel like abandoning the physical rotating bezel and getting a Watch 5.

But now that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic brought back this design element, you’re considering upgrading. And if you do, it’s worth knowing that you can get a decent discount if you trade in your 2020 model.

You may want the latest One UI Watch 5 features

Samsung’s trade-in program offers you $150 on the Galaxy Watch 3. The new Galaxy Watch 6 Classic starts at $399, but if you agree to trade your 2020 smartwatch, you can buy the latest model from Samsung for $249.

As to why you may want to upgrade, there could be many reasons. The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic has more powerful hardware, a bigger and brighter screen, and a more versatile 3-in-1 BioActive sensor that offers improved health and fitness tracking.

Perhaps more importantly, the Galaxy Watch 3 is no longer supported. You will get a couple of new watch faces later this fall, but you won’t get the latest One UI Watch 5 firmware upgrade.

If you’re looking for better integration between your Samsung smartphone and smartwatch with improved Sleep Mode, better on-device sleep-tracking features, and improved fitness tracking with personalized heart rate zones, upgrading to the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is the way to go. And remember that if you can let go of your old Galaxy Watch 3 and trade it in, you can save some cash.
