Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League gameplay debuts at The Game Awards

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is Rocksteady’s next venture in the DC universe following its acclaimed Batman: Arkham franchise. During The Game Awards 2021, we finally got a look at gameplay in the upcoming title starring Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang. The gameplay footage focuses on the team in Metropolis, currently looking for The Flash.

After Brainiac seems to have taken control of members of the Justice League for his own nefarious reasons, Task Force X (the titular Suicide Squad) is authorized to take them out by any means necessary. The team may not be keen on the task at hand, but the bombs in their heads make pretty compelling argument when Amanda Waller is behind the kill switch.

As fans have come to expect from the Suicide Squad after its multiple movies (even if one was terrible), Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will feature plenty of jokes. This isn’t a grimdark story without any laughs. We just may be waiting a while until we can experience those laughs.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will hit Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and PS5 in 2022, skipping last-gen consoles like the Xbox One and PS4. Unlike Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set in the Batman: Arkham universe, though we don’t know details as to when it takes place.
