Samsung aims to bring Enhance-X photo remastering app to Galaxy S22 next month

Samsung has almost completed the development of the Galaxy Enhance-X app for the Galaxy S22 series. In case you missed the news, the app debuted for the Galaxy S23 lineup last month, and Samsung said it wants to make it available to older phones gradually. It didn’t reveal a timeframe, but the 2022 flagship phones might get the app soon.

The Samsung Community forum moderator in charge of Galaxy camera updates confirmed today that the Enhance-X app for the Galaxy S22 is almost finished and could be distributed in 2-3 weeks from now. Still, the schedule is not set in stone, and more details will emerge once the company is ready to roll out the app.

Bringing better photo remastering to the Galaxy S22

As explained last month, the Galaxy Enhance-X app is similar to the built-in Photo Remastering feature you already have inside the Gallery app on your Galaxy S22. The app uses AI to fix imperfections related to blur, noise, and loss of detail but offers more tools and better control over these parameters than the standard Phoot Remastering function.

The Galaxy Enhance-X app can also be used to adjust portrait characteristics, from skin smoothness to color tone, eye size, and jawline. It’s an AI-driven remastering app that can transform your photos without demanding extensive knowledge of photo editing. And it thankfully won’t remain exclusive to the latest flagship phones.

For Galaxy S23 users, the app is already available via the Galaxy Store. It weighs around 85MB and is in the beta stages of development. The Galaxy S22 might get the Enhance-X app next month, and Samsung may bring it to other phones soon after. But it is not yet clear if these older phones will get the beta app like the Galaxy S23 did or if Samsung is ready to end the beta period and release the app more widely.
