OnePlus 8 series will get ColorOS update next year
OnePlus smartphones sold outside China come with OxygenOS, but the ones available in China come with HydrogenOS. However, that changed with the OnePlus 9 lineup announced in March, which came with Oppo’s ColorOS. Now we learn the OnePlus smartphones next in line to get ColorOS are the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and 8T.
This revelation comes from OnePlus’s COO, Mr. Liu Fengshuo, who took to Weibo to announce that the OnePlus 8 trio will get the ColorOS update in Q1 2022.

Mr. Fengshuo didn’t reveal if the update will only arrive on the Chinese units or the global models as well. However, OnePlus has previously said that its international variants will continue to run OxygenOS. Whether or not that changes with future OnePlus smartphones remains to be seen.
