Overview of the new call control screen in One UI Watch 5

The Galaxy Watch call screen shows up when you place or receive a call on your connected smartphone. The concept is not new and was present in previous versions of One UI Watch. However, with the latest update, Samsung added a handful of extra options to give users more control over phone calls directly from their wrists. Here’s an overview of these additions:

In short, users can now answer or reject calls, control call volume, mute sounds, and even access a keypad. The accept and reject call buttons are visible by default. However, One UI Watch 5 users can now swipe up from the bottom of the call screen to gain access to volume controls and the keypad.

One UI Watch 5 is available on the Galaxy Watch 6 series out of the box and is rolling out as a firmware update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 lineups. If you want access to the latest update and don’t feel like paying full price for the Galaxy Watch 6, you can still buy the Galaxy Watch 4 or the Galaxy Watch 5 from Samsung’s online shop in 2023. And before you ask, there are other reasons why you might prefer buying the Watch 5 Pro over all other models, even if it’s not the latest version. Unmatched battery life is among them.
