New update brings March 2021 security patch to the Galaxy S20 series

Samsung first released the March 2021 security patch to the Galaxy Note 10 series. Later, the security patch was released to the Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Tab S7, and the Galaxy A8 (2018). The Galaxy S20 series received the March 2021 security patch in the US along with the One UI 3.1 update. Now, international variants of the Galaxy S20 are receiving the latest security patch.

The Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra have started receiving the March 2021 security patch in various European countries, including Bulgaria, France, and Greece. The latest software update carries firmware version G98xxXXS6DUBA. Since it is just a security patch, the download size should be quite small.

Apart from Google’s own fixes to vulnerabilities in Android, Samsung’s March 2021 security patch brings fixes related to the Exynos 990 chipset. Other bug fixes and stability improvements could also be a part of the latest software update. The Galaxy S20 series started receiving the One UI 3.1 update last month.

We expect the new firmware to soon roll out in other markets as well. If you are a Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, or a Galaxy S20 Ultra user in one of the markets mentioned above, you should soon receive a notification for the update. If you don’t want to wait for the update to arrive on its own, you can manually search for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install.
