Marvel’s Black Widow now available to buy in 4K on the Microsoft Store

After an initial cinematic and Disney+ home premiere launch, Marvel’s latest movie, Black Widow, is available to buy early in the Microsoft Store. Unlike most other early access movies that have been hitting digital, this one isn’t a rental agreement. You buy it, you own it. But you’ll pay a premium for it.

Black Widow will set you back $30, but of course, you don’t need to be a Disney+ subscriber to watch it and since it supports Movies Anywhere in the U.S., you get a choice of where you can enjoy it. It’s also available in 4K if you really want to see it at its best.

Black Widow focuses on the titular character’s life between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War in the Marvel timeline. It introduces a number of new characters to the MCU, not least Yelena Belova, who is set to play a recurring role in the next phase of Marvel movies and TV shows.

Perhaps more exciting is that Windows 10 Mobile plays a key role at the beginning of Black Widow, right before Natasha tosses it over the side of a boat. Our beloved mobile platform of old deserved better.

But if you’ve been waiting to see what happens to the phone, to Black Widow and the Red Room, now’s your chance ahead of its scheduled physical release in September. It’s currently listed as joining Disney+ in October, too, so this might be the one you’ve been waiting on. Especially if you’re not a subscriber.
