Main Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) specs have been confirmed

At this point, there is very little we don’t know about the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021). Previous leaks have told us the tablet’s specifications in their entirety and even shown us a glimpse at its design.

Now, a Geekbench listing reaffirms the leaked spec sheet from earlier by confirming the chipset model. It also confirms that the tablet will have Wi-Fi-only and LTE variants.

Galaxy Tab A8 makes an appearance at Bluetooth SIG

91mobiles has stumbled upon the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) in the Geekbench 4.0 database running a UNISOC Tiger T618 SoC. In its first run, the tablet managed to net a single and multi-core score of 1,625 and 5,285, respectively. The next run yielded scores of 1,704 and 5,256.

This particular Galaxy Tab A8 variant appears to be running Android 11 and has a paltry 3GB of RAM. We’re probably looking at the entry-level Galaxy Tab A (2021), as anything lower than 3GB of system memory will have trouble running a full-fat version of Android.

Apart from Geekbench, the Galaxy Tab A8 also showed up on the Bluetooth SIG website bearing model number SM-X205. Bluetooth SIG listings don’t often tell us a whole lot about a device’s innards, and this one is no different. It does, however, confirm that the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) will run Bluetooth 5.2 out of the box, which is nice, given that it is a budget tablet.

Although we know quite a lot about the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021), its launch date is still shrouded by mystery. Its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab A7, was launched in September 2020. We’re way past that point so it is difficult to tell when Samsung will make the low-cost tablet available to the masses.
