iQOO Z5 India launch set for September 27

Last week we exclusively reported that the iQOO Z5, which will be unveiled on September 23 in China, will debut in India by the end of this month with a sub-INR30,000 ($410/€350) price tag. iQOO now confirmed the launch bit as the company announced that it will introduce the Z5 in India on September 27 at noon local time.

iQOO’s Indian branch also shared an invite, giving us a glimpse of the Z5’s design. Its rear panel is painted with a blue-ish color and houses a 64MP triple camera setup, with its right-side frame featuring a volume rocker and power button, which will likely double up as a fingerprint reader.

If you want a clearer look at the Z5, you can check out the “family portrait” of the Z5 series below shared by iQOO on Weibo. The lineup is expected to include the vanilla Z5, Z5 Pro, and Z5x. And while iQOO doesn’t tell us which one’s which, it’s safe to say the blue phone in the pictures is the regular Z5, which also has a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top like the other two smartphones.

iQOO hasn’t detailed the Z5’s specs sheet yet, but the company has already confirmed that the smartphone will come with a Snapdragon 778G SoC, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, 120Hz punch hole display, stereo speakers, and Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless support.

Fueling the entire package will be a 5,000 mAh battery, although it’s unclear if it will support 55W charging like the Z3’s cell or go faster.
