Gears 5 economy will continue to be tweaked, confirms Xbox’s Rod Fergusson
Gears 5 is a third-person shooter from The Coalition. The studio has worked on Gears of War 4 in the past, and it wanted to make the sequel an even bigger adventure. The game is also more advanced on a technical front. According to Gears 5’s Multiplayer Design Director, the franchise features 60 Hz servers for the first time.
While there’s a lot to love about Gears 5, the in-game economy isn’t one of them. Despite the fact that it features cosmetic-only items, the grinding to earn them is unreal. A lot of players are complaining about this, and Studio Head Rod Fergusson said that the team will continue to tweak it.
We’re learning as we go. This is a completely different economy from Gears 4 (removed Gear packs) so it will take a little time to work through any issues. Our first attempt is not our last and we will continue to evolve until we get it right https://t.co/oHTM3dT4rf
