The Android 13 update for the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is rolling out with firmware version T220ZCU1CVL5. The update brings One UI Core 5.0 along with the November 2022 security patch. If you want to install the Android 13 update on your Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, you need to head over to Settings » Software update and tap on Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. Don’t forget to back up your data before flashing the firmware.

The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite was launched with Android 11 onboard. It has now received two major Android OS updates, and Android 13 could be its last major software update.

With One UI Core 5.0, Samsung has improved the UI design with the expanded Color Palette feature, easier lock screen customizations, better widgets, Stacked Widgets, bigger app icons for notifications, better translucency effects in the notifications area, and smoother animations and transitions. There are new wallpapers, too. Notifications are now opt-in, which means that all new apps you install on your tablet have to ask permission before sending any notification.

Samsung has also improved all the stock apps, including Camera, Samsung Gallery, Samsung Internet, and Samsung Keyboard. There are per-app language settings, which are a part of core Android 13. The Settings app has a new Connected Devices menu, and the Security and Privacy sections have been merged for a simpler UI. The Camera app gets the watermark feature and easier filter selection. The Gallery app has improved album customization and enhanced the look of Stories.

The built-in photo editor can create stickers from any image, edit GIFs better, keep Portrait effects even after editing an image, draw perfect shapes, and add new stickers. Samsung has added more accessibility features, including quick setting toggles for high-contrast font, color inversion, color adjustment, and color filter. There are new actions for corner actions.

Bixby Routines has been renamed to Modes & Routines, while Bedtime Mode has been renamed to Sleep Mode. You can choose Modes based on your activity, easily discover present Routines, and check running Routines quickly. Samsung has added a lot more conditions and options to Routines. There are more granular controls over notifications, which apps can send notifications, and how and when they can send notifications.

Samsung Internet gets the ability to drag and drop bookmarks between folders. Edge Panel can now display the names of apps. The Digital Wellbeing app has been redesigned. You can also use several timers at once. The Reminders app shows all the reminders for the current date and show/hide completed reminders. Search performance within the My Files has been improved.
