Galaxy S23 Ultra selfie camera might show less detail on your pimple-ridden face
There’s a lot of interest in the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Samsung’s next flagship smartphone is bound to bring some improvements under the hood. A new report reveals information about the Galaxy S23 Ultra selfie camera.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra selfie camera is reportedly going to get a new sensor. However, the resolution will drop significantly compared to previous models. It’s actually going to have the same resolution as the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+.
Galaxy S23 Ultra selfie camera gets a major change
It was reported a while back that a new selfie camera will be shipped with the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+. Earlier models had long retained the 10-megapixel sensor. These devices will now come with a 12-megapixel selfie camera.
The Ultra model has had a 40-megapixel selfie camera ever since the Galaxy S20 Ultra was released. That’s going to change in 2023. GalaxyClub reports that the Galaxy S23 Ultra is also going to have a 12-megapixel selfie camera.
More megapixels don’t equal better quality so this drop in resolution shouldn’t concern you. The finer details about this new selfie camera sensor are slim at this point in time. We can expect that Samsung would have made significant improvements to this new sensor that will result in better performance overall.
As far as the rear camera setup is concerned, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will reportedly come with a 200-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 10-megapixel telephoto with 10x optical zoom. There may also be a second telephoto camera, much like there is on the Galaxy S22 and S21 Ultra, with an expected 10-megapixel resolution.
No word as yet from Samsung on when it intends to unveil the Galaxy S23 series. Some reports have suggested that the new lineup may be unveiled in early February 2023.
