Galaxy S20 FE (4G Snapdragon) gets July 2023 security update, starting with Latin America

The latest software update, bearing firmware version G780GXXS6EWF3, has been released to the Galaxy S20 FE (SM-G780G). If you can remember, this version of the Galaxy S20 FE was released a few months after the original announcement of the Galaxy S20 FE. It was released in some Asian, European, and Latin American markets. The new update only brings security improvements, so don’t expect any new features or performance improvements.

The new update for the Galaxy S20 FE brings the July 2023 security patch that fixes over 90 security vulnerabilities found in Galaxy phones and tablets, according to Samsung’s security bulletin. The update is now available in Brazil, Guatemala, Paraguay, and Trinidad & Tobago. We expect this update to be available in other countries within a matter of days.

If you have a Galaxy S20 FE (SM-G780G) and live in any of the Latin American countries mentioned above, you can download the new update right away. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also choose to flash the firmware manually. And to do that, you need to download the new firmware file from our firmware database and use a Windows PC and the Odin tool.
