Latest Galaxy S20 firmware update changes close-up zoom feature

The Galaxy S20 5G series is getting a new update in Nordic countries, pushing the firmware version to G98xBXXU2ATF5. It’s the second firmware update for the Galaxy S20 5G series in Europe to carry the June 2020 security patch, and it brings a couple of changes to the camera’s close-up zoom feature.The close-up zoom feature was first introduced with firmware version G98xxXXU2ATE6 a few weeks ago. We detailed this camera mode before, so check our previous story for a video preview of how it works, or rather how it used to work. The latest firmware update for the Galaxy S20 5G series changes the way close-up zoom functions by enabling 2x zoom instead of 1.5x zoom. Furthermore, the Use close-up zoom pop-up text has been changed to read Tap here, then back up a bit for better focus. It should make the function’s purpose a little bit clearer.
