Galaxy Note 20 4G also gets February 2023 security update
The Galaxy Note 20 was the first smartphone lineup from Samsung to get the February 2023 security patch. The update was only released to the 5G variants of the phones. Now, the company has released the latest security update to the 4G versions of smartphones. The February 2023 security patch is rolling out to the international 4G variants of the Galaxy Note 20 (SM-N980F) and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (SM-N985F).
The new software update for the international 4G variants of the Galaxy Note 20 series bumps up the firmware version to N98xFXXS5GWB1. It packs the February 2023 security patch that fixes two security issues with moderate severity. The new firmware is being rolled out in more than ten countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Guatemala, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, and Uruguay.
If you are a Galaxy Note 20 user in any of these regions, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the update from our firmware section and install it manually.
Unveiled in August 2020, the Galaxy Note 20 is more than two years old, but it is still enjoying monthly security updates. The phone will also get Android 13-based One UI 5.1, which debuted with the Galaxy S23 series.
