December 2021 security update reaches Galaxy Fold, Z Flip, and Z Fold 2 in the US

Samsung has started rolling out the last security update of the year to its foldable smartphones in the US. The company has released the December 2021 security patch to the Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Flip, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the US. The carrier-locked versions of these phones haven’t received the update yet.

The new software update for the Galaxy Z Flip comes with firmware version F700U1UES4EUL1. For the Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the new software comes with firmware version F900U1UES6FUL1 and F916U1UES2EUL3, respectively. The December 2021 security update fixes dozens of vulnerabilities found in Galaxy devices.

If you are a Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Fold, or Galaxy Z Fold 2 user in the US, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. If you don’t want to wait for the OTA update, you can download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

The Galaxy Fold was launched in late 2019 with Android 9-based One UI. The Galaxy Z Flip was launched in February 2020, while the Galaxy Z Fold 2 was launched in August 2020. These phones have already received the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update in a few countries, but the update hasn’t reached the US yet.
