Leaked Galaxy Z Flip 5 protective case confirms cover screen redesign

The Galaxy Z Flip series will undergo one of its most significant aesthetic and functional changes this year. Many rumors point to the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 featuring a larger cover display, and a new leaked photo is lending even more weight to the idea of a redesign.

The leaked photo below shows a transparent case for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which may be the official protective case that could ship with the next-gen foldable (via @UniverseIce). And needless to say, the protective case has three cutouts, one of which makes room for a large cover display with a folder-like shape, i.e., an offset notch.

The other two cutouts in the case make room for the cameras and an LED flash. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will retain a dual-camera configuration, but sensor details are presently unknown

Samsung to release the Galaxy Z Flip 5 early

Another recent rumor says that the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s cover display measures 3.4 inches and has a resolution of 720 x 748, which results in a pixel density of around 305 pixels per inch.

The larger cover screen will allow users to perform more tasks without having to flip open the phone. And according to our sources, the cover screen will be fitted on a black backdrop regardless of the phone’s color and won’t be very noticeable when turned off.

Samsung might release the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with its updated design earlier than usual. While some rumors have focused on revealing the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s cover screen shape and specifications, other reports concern the phone’s availability. It is said that Samsung has started mass manufacturing some components earlier than anticipated, and the company may announce the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 in July. As a result, the next-gen foldable phones could hit the market in early August.
