You’re not missing out on a great deal by opting for last year’s Apple Watch, with the Series 5’s biggest changes being the always-on display and a built-in compass. You can read more about the changes in our Series 5 vs Series 4 guide.
The Series 4 was the first Apple Watch to introduce the new 40mm and 44mm sizes, which both feature smaller bezels, and have returned for the Series 5. There’s also a built-in ECG and haptic feedback from the digital crown. You’ll still also get access to watchOS 6.
Needless to say, we’re still big fans of the Apple Watch Series 4. We gave it a stellar 9/10 review, stating, “The truth is that the Apple Watch Series 4 is in a different league right now, and balances style, features and specs to make an excellent smartwatch.”
Alongside announcing the Apple Watch Series 5, Apple also announced the Series 3 was getting an official price cut to $199. So if you don’t mind opting for an older model, you can pick one up for a bargain price. Check out our Apple Watch deals hub for some of the best prices.
