Business customers are falling in love with Samsung’s foldables

Samsung shared a bit more information about the sales performance of its Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold lineups in 2022, focusing on the enterprise segment rather than the consumer market at large. And according to the company as well as independent market researchers, Samsung’s foldable phones now have a higher adoption rate in the business segment than ever.

Across both the consumer and enterprise markets, Samsung foldable phones have reached 16 million shipments worldwide in 2022, representing a 73% year-on-year increase. And next year, the company and market watchers expect that number to increase to roughly 26 million shipments.

In the enterprise field, the adoption rate for Samsung foldable phones in 2022 has increased by a whopping 105% compared to 2021. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 appears to be ticking all the right boxes for business clients.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 has become a great tool for enterprise customers

Samsung quotes many benefits to using the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the enterprise space. To begin with, the foldable phone’s multitasking capabilities and pocket-friendly dimensions make it ideal for business clients, particularly those in the financial sector.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 appears to be a favorite for enterprise customers in the financial sector for several reasons. One is the S Pen, which works great with DocuSign, i.e., the world’s leading e-signature solution used by 24 of the top 25 Fortune 500 Financial companies. The other is Samsung DeX, which brings a desktop-like experience to a mobile device.

Furthermore, a recent survey shows that the most used financial services app by investment professionals is Bloomberg Professional. And as you may have guessed, the app is optimized to take advantage of the Galaxy Z Fold’s unique form factor to deliver market data, analytics, news, and communications “in a more intuitive and immersive way.”

Samsung appears to have big plans for its foldable phones, which should be good news for enterprise and non-business customers alike. Looking towards the foreseeable future, as in “the coming months,” the company claims it is “committed to working with industry-leading partners to create new mobile experiences.” Samsung may unveil the Galaxy S23 series at Unpacked in San Francisco next February. Alongside the upcoming flagships, we might soon hear more about business partnerships and enterprise mobile apps and services optimized for foldable phones.
