Bungie announces Destiny 2 ‘Crimson Days’ event, begins February 11

Developer Bungie has announced on Twitter that the Crimson Days event will begin on February 11 and end on February 18. This event is themed around Valentine’s Day, and players will be able to participate in the event by playing a special 2v2 Crucible playlist called Crimson Doubles. Supposedly, there will be gameplay modifiers in place in Crimson Doubles that encourage sticking close to one another in combat, though Bungie hasn’t given specific details on that yet.

As they play, folks will be able to earn a wide variety of cool items from Lord Shaxx, the character running the event. The main piece of gear to go for is a bow called The Vow, but the loot pool also includes shaders, a Ghost shell, an ornament, a special emote, and a sparrow.

In addition to what you can earn through playing Crimson Doubles, there will also be some new items available in Eververse, Bungie’s in-game microtransaction store. These include a new weapon ornament, a new item for Ghosts, and a brand new emote that lets you and another Guardian form a heart with your arms (See above). Cute! You can read the full announcement made on Bungie’s website here.

What do you think of Crimson Days? Are you excited about playing Crimson Doubles when the event goes live? Personally, I’m quite looking forward to enjoying the event with my Valentine.

Destiny 2 is free-to-play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The latest expansion, Shadowkeep, is available on all platforms for $35.
