Acer announces Swift 3 and Swift 5 premium Ultrabooks with 12th Gen Intel

Two new 14-inch Acer Swift notebook refreshes are on the way. There’s the Acer Swift 5 and Swift 3, both of which pack 12th Gen Intel Core processors, Intel Iris Xe graphics, and thin, light frames.

Where the machines differ is in their hardware and prices. The Swift 3 features a 16:9 display that, at the lowest tier, is FHD, while the Swift 5 packs a 16:10 WQXGA display with an impressive 92.22% screen-to-body ratio and Evo certification. Pricing varies drastically between the two. You can get a Swift 3 starting at $849 while you’ll need almost double that to score a Swift 5, which starts at $1,499.

Having Intel’s latest 12th gen processors is a boon, as is the Swift 5’s aspect ratio (if you’re a fan of additional screen real estate), but given that some of the specs have yet to be disclosed it may be worth waiting on setting aside money until more information trickles in.

Both the Swift 3 and Swift 5 are set to arrive in North America in June 2022, so if you’re waiting on the latest refreshes of Acer’s thin notebooks, you won’t have to hold in place much longer. Though if you want a device right now, you can always check out the best Windows laptops currently on the market.
