Backbone One Controller

Don’t worry iPhone fans, I got you too.

If you’re gaming on an iPhone, there’s another great gaming accessory for Xbox Cloud Gaming or indeed any compatible native iPhone gaming, and that is the Backbone One. As an Android user, I’ve been pretty jealous of this product, but now it’s available with USB-C as well. Ergonomically, it’s probably the best Xbox Cloud Gaming controller for mobile out there, with larger handles and better inputs.

There are two versions for lightning and the modern USB-C based iPhones (and Android phones), and they’re 30% off for Black Friday.

GameSir X2 Controller

Another deal event, another tidy saving from GameSir! I feel like this thing gets a little cheaper every year, and now we have it down to one of its lowest prices.

If you’re an NVIDIA GeForce Now subscriber or an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate user then you may want to consider grabbing an accessory like this. The GameSir X2 Pro clips seamlessly onto virtually any modern Android smartphone via USB-C and gives it full-blown Xbox controls, bypassing the need to cover up gameplay elements with your thumbs while playing. It’s a little on the small size, but overall it’s a great product. I’ve played games for many hours using this thing, and with its 20% saving for Black Friday, it’s a good time to grab one. — Jez Corden

Here’s a deal I didn’t expect to be recommending: XREAL.

XREAL are modern augmented reality glasses that, unlike the Meta Quest or Apple… whatever, and Microsoft HoloLens — actually look cool. That’s right, unlike the vast majority of augmented reality specs out there, these actually are conspicuous IRL, and can incorporate Android smartphones, Windows PCs, and even devices like the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally. Any console that supports HDMI will also support the XReals as well, including Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch.

While they’re small and sleek on the outside, inside is a huge augmented reality screen display that can be adapted to your preferences. I have personally used these, and yes, if you need glasses for far-sight you will need prescription lenses to use them. XREAL’s website offers resources on acquiring prescription lenses, however, and if you have 20/20 vision you won’t need them at all. — Jez Corden

Sonic Origins

A great gift for the holidays, Sonic Origins Plus collects all of Sonic’s classic (and superior) 90s games into one handy package on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch — and it’s on sale for Black Friday.

These timeless side-scrolling platforms were amongst the most innovative games of their era, and remain timelessly fun to this day. While modern Sonic is perhaps served best on the silver screen, classic Sonic will live on forever. Down to $20 for Black Friday, this collection would make a great stocking filler for people of all ages this holiday season. — Jez Corden

Our very own Deal Demon Jennifer Young recently discovered that you can grab an Xbox Series X at Microsoft using these discounted Microsoft Store gift cards via NewEgg. Using these discounted cards, you can get the Xbox Series X bundles at the Microsoft Store down to just $390, making it the cheapest way ever to grab a next-gen console. — Jez Corden

1. Purchase 3 x $100 gift cards for $88 each at Newegg, this gets you $300 Microsoft credit.
2. Purchase 2 x $70 gift cards for $63 each at Newegg, this gets you $140 Microsoft credit.
3. Now, you can grab an Xbox Series X having spent only $390 on said credit.

Once you’ve grabbed those codes, head over to the Microsoft Store, and spend all the monies.

One of the best Xbox headsets of all time is currently on sale, with a nifty $60 saving at Amazon.

The Astro A50 is my current personal headset, and I use it every day for meetings, content creation, PC gaming, and Xbox gaming simultaneously. This is one of the few headsets (and as far as I know, the only wireless headset) that supports SPDIF optical, which means you can inject audio directly from a TV or compatible monitor side-by-side with USB audio. This is useful for me as a game streamer, since I can get game sound into my headset while also podcasting via PC on USB. This headset works directly with Xbox or PC via USB, or with mixing for two sound sources via SPDIF optical.

The sound quality is immense, the comfort is great, and the wireless signal is rock-solid. The fact it always remains charged in the dock is also something I simply can’t live without. I cannot recommend this headset enough, frankly. — Jez Corden

This isn’t necessarily directly gaming-related, but we had to post it anyway because it’s a stupidly good deal.

The Microsoft Audio Dock is a PC dock for your laptop, that expands your ports with USB-A, USB-C, and a full-sized HDMI port. It’s great if you’re gaming on a laptop or something like that and want extra ports, but it’s also an excellent audio speaker with dedicated controls for meeting software like Microsoft Teams.

Why are we posting it? Because Microsoft is fire-selling it, $200 OFF for Black Friday. — Jez Corden

For a great gift idea, this dual-charge battery station is an excellent option for those with multiple controllers that need frequent charging. Simply dock your Xbox controllers in place when not in use, and they’ll charge passively using the Xbox’s USB ports.

The Fosmon charge dock comes in both PlayStation and Xbox flavors, with both docks cleverly incorporating the designs of each console. Both docks have a 20% saving right now. I personally own the Xbox version, and can vouch for its overall quality and usability. — Jez Corden

FOR CONTENT CREATORS, I love this headset, owing to its digital audio controller and SPDIF optical capabilities. This is a great headset for people who play at a desk, and want to incorporate separate devices into their work or creation flow.

The way I used this headset (and still use, via its similar wireless cousin the Astro A50) is to connect the SPDIF optical cable directly to my TV to inject audio from my Xbox, while connecting the headset itself to PC via USB. This let me stream games from my PC using StreamLabs while still being able to use my Xbox for sound, and PC for party chat via the Xbox app for Windows 11. I realize that many of you won’t need or even want such a weird setup (most streamers stream from PC directly anyway, right?) But even if you don’t fancy all that stuff, this is still a great headset.

The Astro A40 TR looks stunning with its combo of matte, gloss, and metal finishes, complete with great sound quality and its high-quality digital audio controller. I would recommend this headset for basically anyone across Xbox and PC, especially given that it can simultaneously incorporate sound from both devices by connecting SPDIF and USB to separate sound sources. — Jez Corden

Probably the best-value PC gaming headset deal I’ve seen so far, the HyperX Cloud II is 50% off for Black Friday.

This headset is wired and has a USB in-line audio controller that injects immersive 7.1 surround sound. HyperX’s “Cloud” branded headsets are renowned for their comfort and build quality, and this Cloud II is no exception. Competing manufacturers really struggle to meet HyperX on value at this price point, and we’re here for it.

This headset works via USB on PC and PlayStation, but only 3.5mm without 7.1 surround on Xbox via 3.5mm. The Cloud II also has a wireless cousin that is a bit more expensive, but is also enjoying 33% off for Black Friday. — Jez Corden

Here’s a great deal for budding streamers, if you’re venturing into the realm of livestreaming video games, whether it be from console or PC you’ll have probably already been eyeing up the Elgato offerings. They’re a popular brand for sure, but they aren’t the cheapest. An even more enticing 4K alternative from AVerMedia is available for just $129.99 on Amazon during Black Friday, boasting all the same features, including Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support for Xbox Series X (eliminating screen tearing). Investing excessively in an external USB capture card beyond the necessities for the current console generation seems impractical. Despite the allure of Elgato cards dominating online retailer search results, the AVerMedia GC553 competes admirably at a more budget-friendly price point — Jennifer Young

We don’t normally list game deals as a cost by use figure, but we should, because some games are worth their cost a 100 times over for the amount of content you get and the amount of hours you spend playing them. In fact our tech editor has lost over 700 hours to Division 2 and now at it’s sale price, he says it’s practically 3 cents per hour of value. Yep, it’s only $18 right now for the Warlords of New York edition. If you like looter shooters, Division 2 is packed full of content and consistently getting new updates, and we think it’s one of the best games in the Black Friday sales right now — Jennifer Young

Morning gamers! Black Friday is officially a-go and as expected, the retailers are at war over who can offer the best deal on the Xbox Series X. In my opinion, the deal at Target right now for the Xbox X Console and $75 Gift card is still the BEST deal there is out there, but it’s worth mentioning here that Walmart has two compelling options if you’re not interested in the gift card, or even if you have a Walmart Plus membership and want to get the extra customer service and device coverage that comes with that. There’s also a cracking deal at Best Buy for Plus and Total Members. For ease, I’m going to quickly list the 5 best offers right now below, and it’s down to you to pick your preferred retailer depending on any memberships you have— Jennifer Young

If you’re not interested in the gift card at Target, perhaps you don’t really shop there, and you prefer Walmart? You can get the above deal for $10 cheaper at Walmart. Also if you are a Walmart+ member you are covered for returns picked up directly from home.

Xbox Series X + Diablo IV | was $559.99 now $439.99 at Walmart

Walmart also has another deal on the same bundle, but with an EXTRA Xbox wireless controller in blue: Xbox Series X + Diablo IV | was $559.99 now $479.99 at Walmart but this is only value if it’s the blue you want, as the controllers are all currently on sale anyway so you could just purchase the first bundle and choose your own controller for $45 at Walmart.

The best deal on an Xbox Series X console yet just dropped for those in the UK! If you’ve been looking around for a good deal on a current-gen console, you’re likely not going to find one better than this. You can grab a brand new Xbox Series X directly from Amazon right now for just £359. That’s not a typo, that’s a 25% saving! — Zac Bowden

Don’t build a custom gaming desktop for Microsoft Flight Simulator: This $899 pre-built PC WILL take you to the skies with ease. If you’re a budding sim fan, you’ve probably laughed at the recommended specs for MSFS. Well, hold onto your aviators because CyberPowerPC just dropped a gaming powerhouse scoring way above the game’s ideal spec for less than $1,000. — Ben Wilson

As Xbox accessories go, this is one of the most essential, especially if you watch any form of media on Netflix, Microsoft Movies & TV, or beyond.

This PDP Universal Gaming Media Remote is designed for Xbox, and no longer requires an IR blaster as the previous version needed (since Xbox Series X|S consoles no longer have IR receivers). This latest version is now an absurdly low $11.50 with 50% off for Black Friday, making it a total steal.

It works exactly as you’d expect. Pause, play, navigate, and adjust volume too with HDMI-CEC. Of course, with HDMI-CEC you can just use your regular remote, but sometimes that doesn’t work out. If you are having issues, this is the next best thing. — Jez Corden

Although they’ve had a permanent price drop, there’s still a tidy saving to be had on the Xbox Series X|S official storage cards for Black Friday. These cards from Seagate seamlessly integrate your Xbox console storage, expanding your capacity by an additional 1TB. They work on all Xbox Series X|S consoles, and have a simple plug-and-play interface.

These cards are more pricy than USB storage solutions generally, but the Xbox Series X|S cannot run modern games from the slower, mechanical HDDs of the past. Only speedy modern interfaces are suitable for modern games, which is why you need something like this to get going. — Jez Corden

I’ve just realised this amazing deal on the Seagate 2TB HDD is not only still going, but it’s $5 less now at Best Buy. I say amazing deal because it may not be the cheapest this has ever been BUT it is currently at a lower price than the 1TB version. So you are getting double the storage for your money. It looks cool too, which helps — Jennifer Young

SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless

CLAXON audiophiles of the UK! The headset that topped out Best Xbox Headset list for *checks notes* over a year is on sale exclusively in the UK at Currys. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a deal as good as this on the wireless version of this headset. Managing Editor Jez Corden called this the KING of all Xbox and PC gaming headsets, and unfortunately a lot of that is because it’s hella expensive, but now you can get it for £269 — Jennifer Young

Morning and Happy Thanksgiving to our US readers! The UK team is taking over the blog today to keep a-turkey-breast ahead of all the best deals out there in gaming. As the big day is tomorrow, now is a good time to steady yourself and make sure you’re going into the sales as fully informed as you can, and don’t get carried away by promises of huge discounts. We only recommend the best deals here at Windows Central, but you can also be savvy yourself and avoid the common retailer tricks by checking price history with handy extensions like the Camelizer I use above.

The Camelizer, installed into my browser is telling me that yes, this is the cheapest price the Xbox Series S has ever been in the UK, so I’ve no hesitation in recommending it in our Black Friday Xbox Consoles deal hub.

You can go here for Bing to download the Camelizer, and here for the Chrome Camelizer. If you need some help navigating the extension and how to use, check out our guide to using Camelizer — Jennifer Young

(Image credit: Windows Central | Richard Devine)

Do you need an Xbox Series X replica mini fridge? No. Do you want one? Who doesn’t? Well for those who haven’t picked up this meme-worthy Xbox accessory yet, you’re in luck. It’s currently on sale for Black Friday at Walmart, and you can get the teeniest tiny version that holds 8 cans for under $40. Also for once, UK gamers aren’t left out of the fun, as it’s on offer on our side of the pond too. This isn’t the fridge you need, but it’s the one you deserve — Jennifer Young

My personal pick for best Xbox headset of all time is currently $50 off for Black Friday, netting you a tidy saving. This headset sports ANC with the latest Bluetooth connectivity for those lengthy commutes or quiet music listening hours at home, but also has an impressive soundstage complete with Turtle Beach’s great positional audio algorithm for elevated competitive play. This headset is also highly configurable with great bass and good separation, making it excellent for cinematic experiences across the board. I love this thing, and highly recommend it. Be sure to read our Turtle Beach Stealth Pro review as well.

Steam Deck JSAUX Shell Swap

Want to get a Retro deck? (Image credit: Jennifer Young – Windows Central)

The tale of my long deceased Steam Deck has been told to death amongst the Windows Central team, but don’t let my tale of how I destroyed my Steam Deck put you off from trying some customization yourself. I know many people that have pulled it off with no issues, with one major difference — having a spare screen to hand. That being said, simply replacing the rear plate of your Steam Deck is relatively painless and straight forward, and these JSAUX kits come with everything you need tools wise to do it. They’re reduced in Black Friday sales right now so just pick your favorite color and glimpse into the inner workings of your Steam Deck in style — Jennifer Young

My first purchases of the Black Friday sales (Image credit: Jennifer Young)

My first purchases of the Black Friday sales have arrived! I generally take advantage of these discounts to fill in gaps in my Xbox controller collection, and as I’ve already mentioned I was waiting with baited breath for the Astral Purple Xbox controller to go on sale, and the Black Friday gods came through. I also picked up this Lilac PowerA Nano controller for my cousin’s little girl, we already have a few of these in the house for kids and they are the perfect size.

Both of these items are still in stock in the US and UK if you want to grab them — Jennifer Young

Sssh… this deal’s a secret. Ok not really, but Secretlab is having a huge Black Friday sale on its chairs, desks and accessories right now, and we’ve put our butts on a LOT of their seats. They have huge range of colors and sizes in the full sale with up to $100 off some models, but even the ridiculously beautiful Lilith chair is included and I had to share — Jennifer Young

Morning bargain hunters! I’m scouting the sales for the best of the best today, and wanted to mention this ridiculously good price on the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX. I posted a deal earlier this week mentioning the price drop at Best Buy, however, if you’re a lovely of all things red, Target has an exclusive color even cheaper right now. This headset is so ridiculously comfortable, and Turtle Beach can’t be beat at this price range in the sound department — Jennifer Young

If you’re looking specifically for deals on Razer gaming stuff, I’ve compiled a list of the best Razer Black Friday deals for you to scout through, but if I were to pick one must-buy item right now it would be the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless Gaming Headset which sits comfortably on our list of the best PC gaming headsets. Our headset expert Richard Devine reviewed it and gave it a solid 4.5 out of 5 praising it’s “helicopter design turned up to 11.” — Jennifer Young

One of my favorite controllers to have tested last year, mainly because my son loved it, was the PowerA Nano Enhanced Wired Controller for Xbox. It’s irresistably cute and a miniature version of the Xbox controller. If you’re looking for a gift for a budding gamer in the family, or just a Player 2 controller that will be able to take a beating only a toddler can get away with, this is a great buy. In fact I even purchased the wireless Pikachu version for Nintendo Switch!

Right now the Lilac is nearly 50% off in the Black Friday sales so I’ve picked one up for my younger cousin, but you can also grab the traditional black one for $28 — Jennifer Young

We are spoilt for choice when it comes to gaming mice on sale right now, but we simply had to let you know about this one as it’s one of the best we have ever tested and it hits that sweet spot of great value. As is the case with most PC gaming products from HyperX, they manage to pack the best specs you can get in the sub-$100 accessory range. Whether you are looking for wired or wireless, the Pulsefire Haste 2 is a solid buy and a no brainer choice with up to $30 off both models — Jennifer Young

Speaking of controllers, there are a bunch of discounts right now at various retailers on the official Xbox Series X|S controller. Not a surprise, but what is interesting is that for the first time ever we are seeing price drops on the newest colors. Yes you can grab Gold Shadow, Stormcloud Vapor AND Astral Purple for only $45 a piece right now. The Gold Shadow was a day 1 purchase for me, so I paid full price and regret nothing. The Astral Purple however I held strong until the sales and I’m happy to report is arriving today, after getting it in the sale at Amazon. For US readers though, you have a lot more choice in retailers offering this deal. So collectors, fill your boots! — Jennifer Young

It’s day 2 of the craziest sales week of the year, and if you’ve got your eye on something from Microsoft’s Black Friday sale, or you’re planning on getting a new game for your Xbox — there’s a smarter way to save. Double dip on your savings by taking advantage of Newegg’s current discount on Xbox gift cards can get you up to $100 of credit for only $88. This credit can be used on anything on the Microsoft store or the Xbox store. In fact I’m gutted we don’t have a similar offer in the UK right now as I’d be using it to buy controllers! — Jennifer Young

This portable screen for the Xbox Series S has taken a pretty spectacular journey since my initial xScreen review. Starting its life as a Kickstarter project, it was recently awarded the ‘Designed for Xbox’ certification as a seal of quality from Microsoft, which perfectly aligns with how I felt about its design. Grab it while it’s cheap if you have an Xbox Series S! — Ben Wilson
