Xperia 1 II (Mark 2) official cases get hands-on pics

Sony will officially launch two cases for the upcoming Xperia 1 II (Mark 2), which include the ‘Style Cover View’ and ‘Style Cover with Stand’ cases. While we’re still playing a waiting game until Sony’s new flagship launches, we thought you might want to see some hands-on pictures on how these new cases will look in the flesh.

The pictures come courtesy of Engadget Japan, who shows the cases at all angles giving you a good idea on what to expect, and help you to decide if you want to pick one up at launch. As of right now, we don’t have any details on pricing, but will keep you posted once we see pre-orders of both the Xperia 1 II (Mark 2) and accessories go live.

Style Cover View Case for Xperia 1 II (XQZ-CVAT)

The Style Cover View for Xperia 1 II is a flip-cover case. The case has a partially transparent front cover so a user can see the time and any notifications when the phone is in standby. The case weighs 56 grams and is made from polycarbonate, although it has a suede-like interior to avoid scratching your device once installed. All ports are easily accessible as a number of the sides are not fully covered. The case is IPX5/8 water resistant. One disappointment is that the front cover has no latch, which means the front cover might flap loose.

Style Cover with Stand Case for Xperia 1 II (XQZ-CBAT)

The Style Cover with Stand for Xperia 1 II case mainly covers the rear of the phone only, but also has a kickstand so that you can watch media content hands-free. The case weighs 38 grams and is also made from polycarbonate, and has an IPX5/8 water resistant rating.
