The Xbox Design Lab gets all kinds of new ways to customize

If you spend a lot of time gaming on your Xbox, having a personalized controller entirely unique to you can be extremely appealing. Fortunately, the Xbox Design Lab gives players exactly that, with dozens upon dozens of options for customizing every aspect of the Xbox Wireless Controller. On Thursday, Xbox updated the Design Lab with new features and options, including returning some fan favorites that existed before the suite was transitioned to new Xbox Wireless Controller.

Now, the Xbox Design Lab once again includes the ability to customize your controller with upgraded rubberized grips on the sides and the back. There are also new metallic finishes for the triggers and D-Pad. Both of these features return from the days of the original Xbox Design Lab alongside the Xbox One consoles, but there are also some color changes and additions. The new “Dragonfly Blue” is a light and vibrant shade, while “Military Green” and “Electric Green” have been updated to “Nocturnal Green” and “Velocity Green,” respectively.

Xbox Design Lab controllers still start at a cool $70, which still lets you go wild with any colors you want (sans the metallic finishes) and basic grips. However, if you add on every feature, including custom engraving, an Xbox Design Lab controller can now approach the $100 mark. Granted, this also features vastly superior grips to the standard Xbox Wireless Controller, much like the Forza Horizon 5 Limited Edition controller.
