The Sony Xperia 1 II goes on pre-order for under €1,000 in Bulgaria

The Sony Xperia 1 II may be cheaper than expected – the original €1,200 pricing seemed steep, even with the Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones (normally around €300) bundled for free. Now two carriers in Bulgaria are taking pre-orders at €980 for a SIM-free phone (even less if you sign a contract).

One of them, A1, is bundling the phone with an unnamed power bank and the WH-1000XM3 headphones, while the other, Telenor, will only give you the famed noise-canceling headphones. Interestingly, we couldn’t find the phone on other regional A1 stores.

We did find it at Finland’s DNA (which is actually owned by Telenor, unlike the Bulgarian carrier, which was sold recently). But there’s bad news, DNA is charging the full €1,200 for pre-orders and so are Gigantti and Verkkokaupa.

Orange Romania will sell you the phone on contract for the equivalent of €850. Then there’s Altex, which is charging €1,130 for a SIM-free device (but there’s no mention of the XM3s on either site).

Deliveries of the Sony Xperia 1 II will start on June 18 in Bulgaria, June 22 in Finland and June 15 in Romania. The official Sony sites for the three countries still show “Coming soon” and no pricing for the phone.

After a moment of doubt, B&H went ahead with pre-orders for the flagship model at $1,200 in the US. Pre-orders in Poland and Germany seem to be keeping the original €1,200 price as well.

We also spotted the mid-range Xperia 10 II, which goes for the originally-announced price of €370. It’s available in Bulgaria right now and in Finland from June 10.
