Skyrim Anniversary Edition is $50 for new players
Bethesda Softworks shared the answers to some frequently asked questions regarding The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition on Friday. The most important news is that of price. Any new buyers for Skyrim Anniversary Edition will be paying $50. Meanwhile, anyone who already owns Skyrim Special Edition can just pay a $20 upgrade fee.
Skyrim Anniversary Edition includes hundreds of pieces of curated Creation Club content. Four pieces of content, including Fishing, are coming for free to all Skyrim Special Edition owners, no upgrade required. Anyone who owns Skyrim Special Edition on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S or PS5 is also getting free technical upgrades that allow the game to take advantage of current generation console hardware, though there still aren’t any technical details right now beyond much faster loading.
Bethesda also shared that Trophies and Achievements will carry forward except for PS4 players upgrading to PS5, due to how the systems work on those consoles.
Skyrim Anniversary Edition is scheduled to arrive on Nov. 11, 2021. Bethesda Game Studios’ next big role-playing game, the science-fiction title Starfield, is slated for a year out on Nov. 11, 2022. Starfield is coming exclusively to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
