MWC 2024 awards nominees announced
The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 kicks off in Barcelona, Spain on February 26, and Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) have announced the MWC 2024 awards nominees for their mobile devices section across three categories – Best Smartphone, Breakthrough Device Innovation, and Best Connected Consumer Device.
GLOMO has shortlisted smartphones from Apple, Google, OnePlus, Oppo, and Samsung for the Best Smartphone category, which includes folding and non-folding devices.
Best Smartphone category
The nominations for the Breakthrough Device Innovation include Google for its AI imaging capability and commitment to software updates for Pixels, while Honor was shortlisted for Magic V2’s silicon-carbon dual-battery tech. We also have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in the list.

The Best Connected Consumer Device category includes devices that bring “new and smart applications, efficiencies and functionality to the user, at home or on the move.”

There’s also a Best In Show category, but it has no nominations yet. MWC is yet to begin, after all. GLOMO says this category’s winner “will be picked from launches of products or devices in the lead up to, and during MWC 2024,” and the “award will be judged based on the best-of-the-best products on show and will be considered by a select group of judges physically at the show.”
