Generation Zero has come to Xbox Game Pass with big update and crossplay

Generation Zero is a post-apocalyptic, stealth-action survival game set in an alternative version of late 1980’s Sweden. You play as citizens of a town called Östertörn that one day discovers that their hometown has been destroyed by mass-murdering robots. Now, they must travel the countryside to avoid being killed by these machines, find out where they have come from, and survive to see another day. The game was originally released in 2019 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

Today, Generation Zero’s developer and publisher, Systemic Reaction, have made several exciting announcements for this title. First off, Generation Zero is now available on Xbox Game Pass for consoles, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

The second big announcement is that the “Resistance” update will be implemented into the game today. This massive update includes new gameplay features such as base building and defending your bases in horde-mode-esque defense missions. This update also features bug fixes, cross-play support between Xbox consoles and PC (Windows 10), a 60FPS boost to the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions, in-game voice chat, and more. There will also be a paid DLC “Soviet Weapons Pack” granting new weapons for the player to use coming soon.

As an interesting side-note, Systemtic Reaction said in a Twitter post that it is looking into possibilities of implementing cross-play with other platforms beyond the Xbox consoles and Windows 10.

Generation Zero is a unique take on the open-world survival genre. An intriguing game like this with all its new features is sure to be a welcome addition to the Xbox Game Pass’ library of games and a potential candidate for one of the best games on Xbox Game Pass.
