Galaxy Watch 4 is getting the final Wear OS 3.5 beta firmware in the USA

Samsung is almost ready to bring the Galaxy Watch 4 series software to the level of the new Watch 5. The company is now rolling out another Wear OS 3.5 beta firmware for the Galaxy Watch 4 series in the USA, and this time, the company confirmed it’s the last.

After a few weeks of beta testing One UI Watch 4.5 for the 2021 smartwatch models, Samsung got enough feedback to polish the software and gear up for the first public release. The official changelog for the new beta firmware states that Samsung is “not going to release any new Beta software version” and that the company is no longer providing any official replies to feedback posts and opinions. What’s new in the last One UI Watch 4.5 beta update for the Galaxy Watch 4 series?

The final beta update can be identified by the last four characters in the firmware number labeled “GVH2.” The package weighs around 94MB, although this last bit of detail may vary depending on the beta firmware version already in use on the Galaxy Watch 4.

As for new changes and additions, the latest beta version adds dual SIM functions and a UI to boot, an upgraded watch screen, a unified message composer with an integrated keyboard, and a handful of other Keyboard-related improvements such as the addition of a QWERTY layout, support for handwriting and voice input, and more. There are also additional alarm settings for dates, names, notifications, etc.

As of now, the last beta update for the Galaxy Watch 4 series appears to be live in the United States and South Korea. There’s no official word from Samsung on the duration of the final beta testing phase, but in theory, it shouldn’t take more than a few days or weeks. We’ll keep you posted.
