Galaxy S20 will soon get Android 12-based One UI 4 beta update

After releasing the One UI 4.0 beta update to the Galaxy S21 series a few weeks ago, Samsung concluded the beta program and is close to releasing the stable version. It appears that the South Korean firm will soon release the One UI 4.0 beta program to the Galaxy S20 series as well.

According to the official moderator of the Samsung Members forum, the company is preparing to open the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 beta program to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra. It was stated that One UI 3.1 with firmware version ending EUI4 would be the last software update based on the Android 11 operating system.

Samsung could soon start recruiting beta testers for the One UI 4.0 beta update for the Galaxy S20 series. It is expected that the company will open the beta program before the end of November 2021. The beta update may be available in select markets, including China, Germany, India, South Korea, the UK, and the US.

One UI 4.0 brings a lot of new features, including a revamped UI design with refreshed icons and Material You-based color themes. It also introduces improved stock apps, more lock screen widgets, new widget designs, an updated widgets selection menu, dedicated quick settings toggles to turn off the camera and mic access, and improved security and privacy.
