Galaxy Fold 5G joins the May 2021 security update party

Samsung started rolling out the May 2021 security update to its high-end smartphones starting the last week of April 2021. The update has already been released to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and the Galaxy Fold (4G). Now, the company has released the latest security patch to the Galaxy Fold 5G.

The Galaxy Fold 5G (SM-F907B and SM-F907N) has started getting the May 2021 security update with a new software update. The new update, which has firmware version F907NKOU3EUD7, has been released in South Korea for the carrier and unlocked variants. In UK, the same update for the Galaxy Fold 5G comes with firmware version F907BXXU5EUD7.

As per Samsung’s document, the new software update includes fixes from Google for three critical vulnerabilities inside the stock Android codebase. It also includes 23 fixes from Samsung for vulnerabilities and security bugs within One UI. The new software might also include camera performance improvements, Quick Share improvements, and other bug fixes.

If you are a Galaxy Fold 5G user in South Korea or the UK, you can check for the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the appropriate firmware file for the Galaxy Fold 5G from our firmware database and flash it manually. Other markets could get this update in a few days.
