Galaxy Fold 5G gets Android 12 update

Two weeks ago, Samsung had released the Android 12 update to the Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip. Today, the company is extending the update’s reach to the Galaxy Fold 5G, which was launched alongside the Galaxy Fold in late 2019 with Android 9 out of the box.

The Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update for the Galaxy Fold 5G comes with firmware version F907BXXU6GULB. The update also includes the January 2022 security patch that fixes dozens of privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. The Android 12 update is currently available for the Galaxy Fold 5G in the UK, but more markets could get the update soon.

If you are a Galaxy Fold 5G user in the UK, you can check for the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. If you’re feeling impatient, you can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

The Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Fold 5G got the Android 10-based One UI 2 update in 2020 and the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in early 2021. Android 12-based One UI 4.0 is the last major Android OS update for the two smartphones.
