Galaxy A55 shows up on official Samsung support page in Europe

Is anyone still surprised by the fact that we’re kicking off a new week with more news about the upcoming Galaxy A55? This phone has been showing up online at an accelerated rate, and now, it’s even popped up on Samsung’s official website.

Official support pages for the upcoming Galaxy A55 now exist at Samsung’s Portuguese online portal. They don’t reveal much about the phone, save for the SM-A556B model number and the fact that Galaxy A55 buyers in Europe, or at least some European countries, will be able to choose from 128GB and 256GB of storage.

Galaxy A55 might be weeks away

Even as the Galaxy A55 support pages are now going online, Samsung continues to keep the phone’s release date a secret. But given all these recent events, it is reasonable to think that the Galaxy A55 might be mere weeks away from release. After all, the Galaxy A54 was announced in mid-March.

Last week, we’ve also seen several official Galaxy A55 case renders, and not long before that, the phone’s “Key Island” design language was spotted in live photos at TENAA.

The Galaxy A55 has a flat back panel and display, three individual circular camera cutouts, and an Infinity-O display. It looks very similar to the Galaxy S24, but the biggest giveaway that you’re looking at a 2024 mid-range phone is the so-called Key Island element around the side buttons.

Previous benchmarks suggest that the Galaxy A55 is powered by the new Exynos 1480 chip, which is Samsung’s first chip with an AMD GPU.

Editor’s Note: Although the Galaxy A54 was a decent performer outside of One UI, the phone suffered from some slow-downs in the general UI, much like many other Galaxy A phones do. CPU performance in early benchmarks wasn’t all that impressive, so whether the Exynos 1480 chip will improve the feel of the general UI is to be determined. Nevertheless, since the chip has an AMD RDNA2 GPU, it might at least boast significant improvements for mobile gaming enthusiasts.
