Dynabook’s E10-S will be one of the first laptops to run Windows 11 SE

Microsoft just announced Windows 11 SE, a new version of Windows geared towards the K-8 education sector. Dynabook is among the first laptop manufacturers to announce a device running the new OS, the Dynabook E10-S. It’s an 11.6-inch laptop that will launch in the second quarter of 2022 with a starting price of $290.

The Dynabook E10-S was initially announced in March, though it currently runs Windows 10. It features modest specs that allow it to be more affordable, including an Intel Celeron N4020 processor, 4GB of DDR4 RAM, and 128GB of eMMC storage.

Windows 11 SE delivers a simplified version of Microsoft’s operating system. It comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office and mirrors saved files to the cloud. Apps automatically run in full-screen mode on Windows 11 SE, and multitasking is limited to just two apps running side-by-side. The OS also removes access to the “This PC” area within the File Explorer. All of these changes are to make devices running Windows 11 SE simpler to use for students.
