Carrier and unlocked versions of Galaxy Z Flip 5G get August 2021 security update
Last month, Samsung released the August 2021 security update to the Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. However, the update was only available for the international versions of the phones. The company has now released the security update to carrier-locked and unlocked versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G in the US.
The carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G has started getting a new update with firmware version F707USQU2DUH4 on Sprint and T-Mobile networks. The update for the unlocked version of the smartphone (SM-F707U1) has firmware version F707U1UEU2DUH4, and it is available on almost all carriers in the US, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, C-Spire, Tracfone, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile.
The update includes the August 2021 security patch that fixes 40 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. It might also include One UI 3.1.1 features like Bedtime Mode quick setting toggle, a more responsive camera app, better thermal tuning, faster pop-up menus, and improved Flex Mode features. The new software update might also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements.
