Android 11 and One UI 3.0 now seeding to first Galaxy S20 units

Normally Samsung starts the rollout of its major updates with unlocked units in a single country as a sort of a soak test, but the company went in a different direction with the Galaxy S20’s serving of Android 11. This time around Galaxy S20-series owners on Verizon in the US are the first getting the stable build of One UI 3.0 based on Android 11.

One UI 3.0 based on Android 11 arrives for some Galaxy S20 units

In any case, this is a clear indication that the latest software update for the Galaxy S20 lineup is just around the corner and hopefully a global rollout is expected in the following days. The Galaxy S20 family was the first to enter One UI 3.0 beta program, so it’s only natural that it’s the first to get the final thing.

Aside from the visual changes introduced in One UI 3.0, the new software brings a slew of new functionalities like double-tapping to turn off the screen (finally!) and some new camera filters. Of course, there’s a lot more to it, but with a complete changelog not provided we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find all the details.
