ZTE Axon 20 5G with under-display front camera now on sale globally

Earlier this year, ZTE officially launched the world’s first commercially available smartphone with an under-display front camera. The device had its premiere on September 1, but so far, it was only available in China. Now, the Chinese company has officially announced the global availability of the Axon 20 5G for several other markets. The smartphone, besides its under-display camera technology, also comes with attractive specifications in it.

The ZTE Axon 20 5G smartphone is up for sale in 28 countries of the European Union. Apart from these countries, it will also be available in the United Kingdom, Ukraine, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa. In terms of color, the phone will be first offered in limited edition black color. The smartphone is priced at around $449 / €449 / £419, depending on the market.

To begin with, the first sales of the device will be made on ZTE’s own site. For this, it will be necessary to obtain an invitation code from ZTE New Vision Club. Before you can order, you have to fill in a whole questionnaire about the device and what you think of the brand. In addition, anyone who purchases the device will also receive ZTE TWS LiveBuds earphones for free as part of a new year’s gift.

The under-display selfie camera itself is 32-megapixel with an aperture of f/2.0. Moreover, it also has a fingerprint sensor under the display. The display occupies virtually the entire front of the phone without any notch or punch-hole layout. It has a 6.92-inch OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. Inside the new phone, we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset with liquid cooling, which is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

The battery has a capacity of 4,220mAh, while fast wired charging (up to 30 W) is supported as well. The phone also brings support for 5G networks and also has a quadruple-camera on the back. It includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, and a pair of 2-megapixel sensors – for capturing the depth of field and macro shots. The back is made of 3D glass with a special 10-layer structure. However, it runs on MiFavor 10.5 custom UI, built over the previous-gen Android 10 operating system.
