You can now transfer your Google Play Music library to YouTube Music

Play Music will shut down later this year and to make the transition to YouTube Music easier, Google has announced a new tool that lets Play Music users transfer their libraries to YouTube Music.

The migrated data will include uploaded and purchased songs, albums, personal and subscribed playlists, and stations. The tool also transfers the liked and disliked songs and Google says it will update your YouTube Music profile to offer music recommendations based on your Play Music listening history and likes and dislikes.

Besides, Google will convert the Play Music subscription to the equivalent tier of YouTube Music Premium or YouTube Premium based on the users’ level of benefits with their current subscriptions, and those who aren’t subscribed to any plans can use the ad-supported version of YouTube Music for free.

If you are a Play Music user, you can migrate your data by heading over to music.youtube.com/transfer or by simply clicking on the transfer button in the YouTube Music app. Head this way for more details.

You can also transfer your podcasts by heading to podcasts.google.com/transfer.
