Minecraft Dungeons is a great game to play with friends, but it has been crippled by its lack of cross-play support in the past. Recently, we learned that cross-play was definitely coming to Minecraft Dungeons, and now it’s a reality. The free cross-play update is rolling out today for every platform, connecting everyone through Minecraft Dungeons in a similar way to its older sibling, Minecraft. Once you download the update, you’ll be able to play with friends on Xbox, Windows, Playstation, and Switch, without platform boundaries ruining the fun.
However, Mojang Studios confirmed that cross-save support is coming to Minecraft Dungeons soon in an free update, but didn’t provide an exact release date. Either way, it’s great to hear that Minecraft Dungeons is finally getting all the multiplayer and platform-agnostic features it likely should have had at launch. If you’re looking for the next injection of content for Minecraft Dungeons, the huge Howling Peaks DLC will arrive later this year.
