Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair lands on Xbox One and PC

Yooka-Laylee is a 3D platformer along the lines of Banjo-Kazooie. While the original game featured plenty of charm, the platforming wasn’t that great. However, it seems like the team went back to the drawing board after that because Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair features tight controls and 2D levels.

What’s even better is that some of the levels have different visual styles. For example, one of them is a black-and-white drawing, while another looks like someone painted characters with a colored pencil. This is the type of variety that the title needed and helps it stand out.

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is currently available on Xbox One and PC for $30. If you’re looking for a great platformer to sink your teeth into, then look no further. Between this and the Trine games, you’re all set for the month.

According to the Microsoft Store listing, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair runs 4K resolution on the system. As soon as we’re able to test it out, we’ll confirm the resolution. Hopefully, it’s Xbox One X Enhanced so that the game looks great on modern displays.
