Xperia 10 II (Mark 2) brings OLED to Sony’s midrange

Sony has upped their game when it comes to their mid-range smartphone offering, as its newly announced Xperia 10 II (Mark 2) sports both an OLED display and is IP65/68 water resistant for the first time. It’s nice to see some of these previous flagship features trickle down into the ‘super’ mid-range.

The Sony Xperia 10 II (Mark 2) continues the design aesthetic seen in last year’s Xperia 10 and has a 6-inch 21:9 OLED display with FHD resolution (1080 x 2520), with Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage with microSD memory card support.

The triple lens camera on the rear includes a main 12MP 1/2.8-inch Exmor RS sensor with F2.0 26mm lens + telephoto 8MP 1/4-inch sensor with F2.4 52mm lens + wide angle 8MP 1/4-inch sensor with F2.2 16mm lens. This array brings 2x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, 4K video recording and 120fps slow motion video. The front-facing selfie camera has an 8MP 1/4-inch sensor with F2.0 84-degree fov lens.

Other features include a 3600mAh battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, LDAC and DSEE HX audio support, Wi-Fi (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Xperia 10 II has dimensions of 157 x 69 x 8.2mm and weighs 151 grams.

The Xperia 10 II (Mark 2) will be available in two colours (Black and White) when it launches with Android 10 in select markets from Spring 2020. The promo video above also shows Green and Blue colours, so we might see additional colour options when the phone launches.
