Xbox xCloud game streaming expands to Canada, India, and other regions soon

Project xCloud is a game streaming service from Microsoft. In 2020, the service will be available in markets such as Canada, India, Japan, and Western Europe. It’s unclear what countries in Western Europe we’re talking about at the moment. Right now, it’s only available in Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

It’s great to see that more gamers will be able to play Microsoft exclusive without powerful gaming PCs or a console. Hopefully, the pricing will be fair when it’s announced, but it may also be part of existing subscription services. The press release Windows Central received also discussed the future of Project xCloud.

Microsoft ended the press release by saying that in 2020, the company will enable gamers to stream games that they “already own or will purchase.” It will also add game streaming from the cloud to Xbox Game Pass. This language is vague and could mean that the Project xCloud test will get games you already own. However, how much this is going to cost is still a mystery. If game streaming is coming to Xbox Game Pass, does it mean it’s part of your subscription? Only time will tell.
