Update Sept. 15 (3:28 p.m. ET): Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Live sign-in and connection issues have been resolved.
Many Xbox players trying to connect to their Xbox network (formerly known as Xbox Live) profiles are currently experiencing issues signing in, indicating that Microsoft’s systems are going through a rough patch. The issue is primarily affecting users trying to sign into their Xbox network accounts, but it also appears that some users that are already signed in are experiencing some connection issues and service disruptions as well.
Specifically, the Xbox status page notes the following: “You may not be able to sign-in to your Xbox profile, may be disconnected while signed in, or have other related problems. Features that require sign-in like most games, apps and social activity won’t be available.”
Microsoft has announced that it’s currently investigating reports of the sign-in issues, so hopefully the problem will be resolved sooner rather than later. We’re keeping a close eye on the situation and will update this article when we learn more. With any luck, Microsoft will be able to get everything back in working order shortly so that Xbox players can get back to enjoying their games.

Microsoft has announced that it has resolved the issues preventing Xbox players from signing into the Xbox network and playing their games. Users should now be able to log in and play without issue.
