Xbox head Phil Spencer already using Project Scarlett at home
There are a lot of rumors floating around about Project Scarlett at the moment. It’s unclear if Microsoft’s upcoming machine will be more powerful than the PlayStation 5, or whether it’ll offer two versions. What we do know is that Xbox’s Phil Spencer just took his unit home. It’s unclear if it’s a devkit or a retail unit, but I’m willing to bet that it’s the developer kit since they appear to be going out.
Spencer said, “This week I brought my Project Scarlett console home and it’s become my primary console, playing my games, connecting to the community and yes, using my Elite Series 2 controller, having a blast.” This seems to indicate that the company has locked down specifications, but since the device is coming out in Holiday 2020, a lot could still change.
And it’s started….this week I brought my Project Scarlett console home and it’s become my primary console, playing my games, connecting to the community and yes, using my Elite Series 2 controller, having a blast. Great work by the team, 2020 is going to be an incredible year.

What do you want to see from Project Scarlett? Let us know. Hopefully, it’ll still be “the best place to play games” with the highest resolution and frame rates. However, only time will tell. We should know more about it at E3 2020.
